Natalie Davey Wins Again
The Uni-Hill Downhill 1K took place Thursday evening in Boulder. Fast runners showed up to scorch the course. Davey added to her wins at the Bolder Boulder and last week's Fila SkyMarathon with a 2:38 clocking. Art Siemers edged out Bolder Boulder citizen's winner Martin Weiss by a second.

Drossin Leads a U.S. Revival at Bolder Boulder
"The U.S. is back on track," said Peter De La Cerda, member of the U.S. Bolder Boulder team. "Don't ever say it's dead."
Never dead, but now awakened from a slumber, the performances by both the US men and women's elite teams at this year's Bolder Boulder provided a big shot in the arm to distance running in this country. Buoyed by Deena Drossin's win in the women's race, both squads ran to third place finishes in the International Team Challenge. The previous bests were sixth for the women and seventh for the men.

Drossin, Koskei Run Away With Titles at Bolder Boulder
The 23rd running of the Bolder Boulder was packed with tough fields as Deena Drossin from the U.S. and James Koskei from Kenya ran away with victories.

Cool Weather for Steamboat Racers
June 3 in Steamboat Springs saw overcast skies similar to this year's Bolder Boulder. Jason Saitta of Northglenn ran 2:45:55 to win the marathon. Connilee Walter of Colorado Springs ran 3:15:23 to take the women's marathon. In the half marathon, Lance Denning and Catriona Dowling, both of Boulder took the top slots. Jon Sinclair of Fort Collins and Noreen Shea of Littleton won the 10K titles.

On a beautiful spring morning, Pedro Alvaraez and Eliza Alexander ran to easy victories in the YMCA of Boulder Valley's annual 5K. Alvarez posted a time of 15:20 and Alexander ran a 17:47. The fundraiser had 316 finishers.

Culpepper Runner-Up at 15K Championships
In a rare appearance on the roads, Colorado's Alan Culpepper finished second to Mebrahtom Keflezighi at the March 10 Gate River run in Jacksonville, Florida--the US 15K national championships. The finish was a repeat of their places at the recent cross country nationals. Deena Drossin, also of Colorado, took the women's race in a time of 49:09.
